How to check the condition of a dry chemical fire extinguisher. The condition of the fire extinguisher should be checked at least every 6 months. There are 7 steps for basic inspection as follows:

  1. (Date, Day, Year field) Specify the date of the fire extinguisher inspection. The inspector should have basic knowledge of each type of fire extinguisher, such as (factory safety officer, general staff, or fire extinguisher distributor, etc.) The purpose of inspecting the fire extinguisher is to ensure that it has been regularly maintained and inspected, so that when an actual incident occurs, you can be reasonably sure that the fire extinguisher is still ready for use.
  2. (Latch/Hose field) Check the latch, snake, and silver foil to be intact and the hose to be not cracked. The fire extinguisher is in normal condition. Tick / If the condition of the fire extinguisher is abnormal, tick X and fix it to be normal before ticking / on the inspection sheet.
  3. (Squeeze lever/Joint field) Check the squeeze lever and joints of the fire extinguisher. They must not be rusty or bent. The fire extinguisher is in normal condition. Tick / If the condition of the fire extinguisher is abnormal, tick X and fix it to be normal before ticking / on the inspection sheet. Or check according to the overall suitability.
  4. (Fire extinguisher condition field) Check the condition of the fire extinguisher. It must not be rusty, rotten, cracked, or torn. The sticker must not be torn and the details must be legible. If the condition of the fire extinguisher is normal, tick /. If the condition of the fire extinguisher is abnormal, tick X and fix it to be normal before ticking / on the inspection sheet or look at the overall suitability.
  5. (Gauge box) Check the gauge. The needle can be clearly seen in the green bar. The glass is not foggy, not cracked, not bent. The condition of the fire extinguisher is normal. Tick /. If the condition of the fire extinguisher is abnormal, tick X and fix it to be normal before ticking / on the inspection sheet.
  6. (Inspector box) Sign the name or signature of the inspector.
  7. At least every 6 months, the tank should be turned upside down about 5-10 times to help extend the life of the dry chemicals and prevent them from clumping.
