Breathing apparatus Dräger PSS® 3000 (SCBA)

general features

Backpack breathing apparatus is used in firefighting, rescue in confined spaces or areas with abnormal or unsafe air quality, such as excessive dust, gas, or smoke that may be dangerous to those working. It consists of a mask, a backpack with high-pressure air tank, a pressure reducing set, a pressure regulator, and a pressure gauge with an alarm system.

Characteristics of various parts

 The Full Face Mask set

  • It is a full face mask made from EPDM (Dthylene-Propylene-Diene-Ester Material) which is heat-resistant and provides good chemical protection. When worn, it does not cause skin irritation.
  • Toxic air from outside cannot leak into the mask with 2 layers of rubber edges around the mask.
  • The lens of the mask is made of polycarbonate material, which is resistant to impact and scratches. It can be seen at least 180 degrees and can be replaced if damaged. It is convenient for cleaning and maintenance.
  • The mask is designed to allow the user to speak to others while wearing it through the speech diaphragm made of stainless steel.
  • The mask has a 5-point head strap that can be adjusted to fit the face. It has an anti-fog system and the pressure regulator can be removed from the mask with just one button release switch.
  • The mask meets EN 136

Back plate

  • Made of glass-filled polyamide with carbon fiber material, heat-resistant, chemical-resistant and impact-resistant. Lightweight, ergonomic design. The total weight of the equipment must fall on the hips, reducing muscle tension, fatigue and back pain.
  • The straps can be used with compressed air tanks from 4 liters to 9 liters without additional equipment. The tank can be locked tightly and quickly released when changing tanks. The tank strap is made of chloroprene coated polyester fabric webbing.
  • The shoulder straps and waist straps are large to distribute the suit’s weight well and prevent back pain. Made of Ethyl Vinyl Acetate (EVA) material and is heat-resistant, chemical-resistant and impact-resistant. It can be easily adjusted to fit the user’s torso size.
  • Anti-static. Reduce

(Reducer)

  • Can be used with compressed air tanks with a maximum pressure of 200 or 300 bar without having to change the pressure reducing set.
  • There is a safety valve. If the pressure reducing system is damaged, the pressure in the tank will be released without harming the user.
  • The pressure reducing set has threads that can be connected to the air tank. The threads are DIN G 5/8.
  • Inside the air delivery line to the pressure gauge, there is a tube made of alloy to prevent air from leaking out when the air delivery line is torn. Covered with rubber that is resistant to high pressure and chemicals.

Pressure control unit (Lung Demand Valve)

  • Attach to the quick connection mask without having to twist or screw. For quick and easy use. Designed not to fall off the face easily if hit or caught during work.
  • Automatic air supply system when taking the first breath. And supply air according to the amount of breath. Can supply at least 400 liters of air / minute and control the pressure inside the mask to be slightly higher than atmospheric pressure (Positive Pressure) to prevent toxic air from outside from leaking into the mask.
  • There is a pressure regulator cover made of silicone to protect against impact and chemicals.
  • There is an emergency air supply button when more air is needed than normal.
  • There is a button to temporarily stop air supply to save air when removing the mask without having to close the valve on the air tank.

Pressure Gauge and Alarm System (Whistle and Pressure Gauge)

  • Pressure gauge in compressed air tank, unit is bar.
  • The pressure gauge illuminates to be visible in the dark.
  • The pressure gauge is covered with chloroprene rubber, which is shock-resistant and resistant to chemicals.
  • The pressure gauge has a restriction valve to limit the amount of air (Restriction Valve) not exceeding 10 liters per minute to prevent unnecessary air loss in case the pressure gauge is damaged. The warning system is a whistle sound, controlled by medium pressure (Medium Pressure) between 6-8
  • There will be an alarm when the air in the tank is approximately 55 +/- 5 The whistle sound will continue at a loud volume of 90 dBA until the air in the tank runs out.

Carbon composite tank

  • It is a compressed air tank made of carbon composite and aluminum according to EN12245 It holds 6.8 liters of air at 300 bar and can be used for about 45 minutes at a breathing rate of 40 liters/minute. The tank must be tested (Hydrostatic Test) every 5 years. The maximum tank life is 20 years.
  • There is an air supply control valve in line with the compressed air tank. It can be used by both left- or right-handed people.
  • There is a safety plug for closing the tank valve for safety during transportation.

Total weight not exceeding 11 kg for composite carbon cylinders, excluding standard packaging bags (Approval)

  • The manufacturer is ISO 9001 certified, the masks are EN 136 certified and the respirators are EN 137:2006 Type 2 certified (European Standard 2006 is the latest standard for respirators) and ATEX certified to ensure they are not flammable during use.

Others

  • Additional equipment can be assembled later, such as radio communication equipment, sound amplifier equipment, or a second aerial cable set (Buddy Breather).
  • Products from Germany and England.
  • The packaging is made of molded plastic in bright colors, such as orange, to make it clearly visible during an emergency.
  • Training in use and basic maintenance is provided to users by expert staff.
  • There are one set of user manuals in Thai and one in English.
  • Guaranteed against manufacturing defects for 1 year from the date of delivery.
